Double Knitting
Standard double knitting yarns, be it wool, cotton or a blend of several fibres, generally, you are fairly safe using any double knitting yarn to a pattern which calls for a double knit yarn. It is always worth doing a tension square to make absolutely sure and usually, if at all, it would just be a case of going one size needle either larger or smaller. As a rule, yarns with a large percentage of cotton knit up larger, so those are the ones to watch!
