4ply/Sock Yarns
4ply and sock yarns are fine and light weight, sock yarns often tend to have a percentage of nylon to reinforce the yarn giving more wearability to the socks. Standard 4ply yarn can also be used for making socks but without the nylon it is best to use a reinforcing thread on the heel and toe which you knit with the yarn.
